James Suckling 97 pts
This enormously concentrated and complex gewurz has a dominantly smoky personality that makes it stand out from the crowd of Grand Cru wines from this grape. The smoky and spicy character explodes on the lush palate, sweeping you away at the long super-refined finish. Drink or hold.
Robert Parker 91 pts
Schlumberger's 2015 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Kitterlé opens with a clear, fresh and generous, very intense, complex and spicy as well as aromatic bouquet of orange zests, pink grapefruit, lychees, milled and crushed stones and white pepper. Full-bodied, dense and rich on the palate, with more tannins than acidity (2.94 grams per liter), this is a pretty sweet but elegant Gewurztraminer with a long, intense and quite sweet as well as bitter finish. The Kitterlé doesn't have the thrill and tension of the Kessler in 2018 and remains rather unadventurous. 13.24% de facto alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in February 2023.
