The 2020 Beaune LesTheurons 1er Cru has a much more introverted bouquet compared to the Grèves,with an attractive marine element, hints of kelp and shucked oyster shellpercolating through the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with suppletannins, a fine line of acidity, lightly spiced with a detailed and quitepeppery finish. Excellent.

A perfumed andpretty mix features notes of both red and dark cherry liqueur along with floraland exotic tea nuances. This too possesses a highly attractive mouthfeel withslightly better mid-palate density to the relatively powerful flavors that area mix of refinement and punch on the dusty, moderately austere and firmlystructured finale. This is a classic Theurons of grace, but no lack ofcharacter, that will need extended patience to arrive at its apogee.
