Brilla nel calice ed emoziona a primo impatto nella devastante progressione sensoriale dell'orchestra sinfonica delle note di ribes, lamponi, cassis, ciliegie, fiori di magnolia, fiori di ibisco, petali di rosa e succo di pompelmo rosa. In sottofondo l'energia dolce delle pere Williams si combina al tiglio e al gelsomino per descrivere una struttura secondaria gentile dai tratti femminili. La grafite lega tutte le note descritte avvolgendo e creando una complessità di difficile replica. Corpo medio-pieno, tannini setosi che accarezzano il palato, acidità perfettamente fusa nella matrice vibrante ed austera al punto giusto ed un finale solido e compatto che fa della radiosità un punto di forza e di encomiabile fattura. Wow! Meglio dal 2022.

The sweetness of fruit coming up out of the glass is really pretty, offering flowers, plums and ripe strawberries. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Powerful and rich. Length and intensity here. A little tight at the end, but lots going on. Beautiful, regional blend. Try after 2023.

This is one of two new wines to join the Gianni Gagliardo portfolio with this vintage. The 2016 Barolo del Comune di La Morra draws its fruit from various vineyards in the Santa Maria subzone and from the Serra dei Turchi vineyard that is closest to the winery headquarters. With a small production of 4,260 bottles, the wine is soft and lush with generous doses of Nebbiolo fruit and oak spice. The tight and linear tannins should guide the wine forward in time.
