Convincing proof that 2020 is an excellent vintage for dry GG on the Mosel! Cool and stony with delicate white-peach and white-currant aromas. Really takes off at the intensely slatey and racy finish.

The 2021 Graacher Himmelreich GG Alte Reben offers a deep, pure and lemony, saline and spicy/slatey bouquet with fine intensity. Round and lush on the palate, this is a savory, stimulatingly saline and crystalline Himmelreich with substantial fruit and structure. Very good finish. 12.5% alcohol. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in July 2022. To be bottled in October.
A tiny bit restrained at the moment, it does open up with a little bit of air to reveal its savory side. Notes of durian, grapefruit and sea salt mingle at the core, while herbal notes glide along. It is firm, but persistent, so best to wait to enjoy this. Best after 2026.
