Chambolle-Musigny is situated in Burgundy Cote de Nuits. It is one of the three most famous wine-producing villages in Burgundy. Its name comes from a local river, the Grone.  Since the 18th century, Burgundy and Chambolle has launched a vigorous village movement, adding the name of the most famous field in the wine village to show the quality of the wine. In 1882, Chambolle added the name of the most famous local vineyard, Le Musigny, to the name of the village and changed to "Chabolle-Musigny".

The vineyards are mostly distributed on the east faced slope. At an altitude of about 250-300 meters, the topsoil here is very thin, some rock blocks are common on the surface, while the lower part is a large amount of Jurassic limestone, and some irregularly distributed pebbles ensure the hydrophobicity of the soil here. In addition, the local Combe de Chamboeuf has the greatest impact on Chambolle-Musigny. The western part of Burgundy is relatively high. The hillside on the west side can effectively resist the cold wind blowing from the west. The formation of the anticline valley is the top of the middle section of the hillside receives tension, Cracks occur and it is eroded to form a valley bottom. This anticline valley can effectively reducing the temperature of the vineyards. It is under the cover of the tuyere, and most of the courtyards here will be surrounded by stone walls.

Often described as feminine, Chambolle-Musigny wines are full-bodied and delicious, yet elegant and sophisticated. From the flavor point of view, the wines here often have aromas of violets and roses, and fresh red berries. After a period of aging, the flavors of spice and plum become more and more obvious, and after sufficient aging, it is easy to show truffles, forest shrubs , animal flavor, the aroma of the wine is rich and fragrant, the tannins are silky and delicate, and some people even use noble to describe the feeling that the tannins in the wines here bring people. Pinot Noir is mainly grown here to make red wine, and when making red wine, it is allowed to add no more than 15% Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay.

Chambolle-Musigny has a vineyard area of 152.65 hectares, including 24 Premier Crus with an area of 55.4 hectares, and 2 Grand Crus with an area of 24.02 hectares, including 10.77 hectares in Musigny and 14.72 hectares in Bonnes Mars, of which 1.52 hectares are in the neighboring village of Morey-Saint-Denis. The production of the entire Chambolle-Musigny is about 800,000 bottles per year. Chambolle-Musigny is very small, and the whole production area is square in terms of the region. And there are not many wineries, only about 20, among which Comte Georges de Vogue, J.F. Muginer and Georges Roumier are the most famous.
